NHL gives a horrendous explanation of the controversial goal in game 4

While trailing by one goal in the third period of game 4, Sam Bennett of the Florida Panthers scored a goal which many NHL fans thought should not have counted.

Bennett, who is still being criticized for injuring Bruins star player Brad Marchand in game 3, found himself in yet another controversial situation during game 4.
Many fans thought the play should have been called back due to goalie interference, but the NHL disagreed, realeasing a statement shortly following the goal.

Explanation:
Video review supported the Referees' call on the ice that that the shove by Florida's Sam Bennett on Charlie Coyle and the subsequent contact with Jeremy Swayman did not prevent Swayman from playing his position in the crease prior to bennett's goal.

No matter what fans think of the call, it was the one that was made during the game, and the Bruins ended up losing 3-2, meaning they are facing elimination down 3-1, a series score to which Boston holds an 0-25 all time record.
