General Manager Brad Treliving possibly hit a home run by signing Max Pacioretty to a professional tryout a few weeks ago. The 35-year-old veteran was in great shape during his first appearance as a member of the Leafs against the Ottawa Senators, scoring three points, including two goals.
He is set to be back on the ice tonight, as his former team, the Montreal Canadiens, will visit the Leafs at the Scotiabank Arena.
A lot has changed in Montreal since Pacioretty was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights for current Habs captain Nick Suzuki in 2018. However, Pacioretty still remembers how it felt to play in such a storied rivalry from his time with the Canadiens.
Here's what he said in an interview ahead of the clash between Toronto and Montreal:
Tonight's game promises to be interesting to watch. With the Leafs season opener being less than two weeks away, against the same Canadiens, Pacioretty will once again jump on the ice with one goal in mind: having an impact for the Leafs and helping the team earn their first preseason win.
