The New Jersey Devils were expected to be a top team in the league this season, but unfortunately, things haven't panned out that way, and now they're moving on from a veteran forward.
On Thursday, it was officially announced that the Devils were holding Tyler Toffoli out of the lineup for trade related reasons, and that is often the precursor to a big move.
The veteran forward had a solid year with the Devils, tallying 26 goals and 44 points in 61 games played, but unfortunately the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on an extension.
He was acquired from the Calgary Flames this past summer in exchange for a third-round pick and Yegor Sharangovich, but with the disappointing year, Toffoli is on the move yet again.
