There's been some buzz around the Pittsburgh Penguins and potential trade talks involving center Lars Eller. GM Kyle Dubas might consider moving Eller as part of a strategy to secure another top-nine forward.

Eller, known for his solid two-way play, contributed 15 goals and 31 points last season, providing valuable secondary support to stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
William DePaoli: A few teams inquired about Pittsburgh Penguins center Lars Eller. If the Penguins were to trade Eller, a source said it would tied to another move. The Penguins are looking for another top-nine forward.

Yet, why would Pittsburgh consider parting ways with Eller after such a strong season? It's an interesting question.
The answer seems to be about the current lineup. Members of the bottom six club, Kevin Hayes, Blake Lizotte and Noel Acciari are now in the Burgh, so Eller would be the odd man out.
The most obvious next big moves for the Pens (either now or pre deadline, depending on offers) is to trade Marcus Pettersson & Lars Eller, for ~1st and ~2nd value respectively. Dark horse move is to trade Drew O'Connor at the deadline (he'll be a 27 year old UFA)
Eller has one year left on his contract at $2.45 million, making him an intriguing trade asset as Dubas looks to fine-tune the Penguins' roster.
