After a disappointing game five loss, Lightning coach Jon Cooper made some insensitive remarks, and now he's officially walked it back.

The Tampa Bay Lightning were incredibly disappointing in their five game loss to the Florida Panthers, and coach Jon Cooper was unsurprisingly frustrated, with his comments after the game going viral.
"We might has well put skirts on them then... I think we're letting the goalies off the hook."
Cooper was called out all over social media for his misogynistic comments, especially in wake of the ever-growing popularity of the PWHL and the ongoing support of women's hockey. After thinking it over, Cooper was understandably upset and remorseful over the comments he made, as he came out on Wednesday and officially apologized.
Jon Cooper opened his press conference by apologizing for his goalies wearing skirts comments. «Quite frankly, it was wrong.» Said it has pained him more than the series loss. Especially with daughters at home. Wishes he could go back in time and take it back.
Cooper was unsurprisingly vilified, but he clearly owned up to his mistake on Wednesday, and given that we've never heard anything like this before from him, it's safe to say that he's genuine with these comments and will hopefully move forward from this in a positive manner.
