Forward Ryan O'Reilly will be out indefinitely because he broke his finger during Saturday night's game in Vancouver. He's been placed on long-term injured reserve, meaning that he'll need to miss at least 10 games and 24 days. The 32-year-old forward has three goals and 2 assists in eight games since he was acquired by the club just over two weeks ago.

In a corresponding move, forwards Pontus Holmberg and Alex Steeves have been called up from the Marlies. Holmberg, 23, has 11 points in 22 AHL games and 13 points in 36 NHL games this year; Steeves, 23, has 44 points in 53 AHL games so far.

Joseph Woll has also been loaned back to the Marlies, and John Tavares won't play in New Jersey tomorrow because he isn't feeling himself. The club is taking a cautious approach with his health.

More details will follow.
