In breaking news, the Toronto Maple Leafs have just scratched this defenseman ahead of their game tonight, raising questions about their lineup on the blue line.

Leafs Scratch Benoit Ahead of Tonight's Game After Acquisitions at Deadline

Even though the Toronto Maple Leafs were struggling to keep the blueline healthy this year, their acquisitions of Ilya Lyubushkin and Joel Edmundson at the deadline meant that they had to make room in the roster.
Now, Simon Benoit has been scratched ahead of the game tonight, as the Leafs want to keep a right-handed shot in the lineup.
UPDATE:

Mitch Marner and Simon Benoit will be out ❌ tonight in Montreal.

Marner is day-to-day while Benoit is being scratched with the intention of keeping a right handed shot ( Liljegren) in the lineup.
The Leafs will have to play around to find their optimal lineup ahead of the playoffs.
