Even without the ink dried on the contract, Webber's itching to hit the ice with the Leafs. Fresh off Boston University's tough loss in the Frozen Four semifinals to eventual national champion Denver, he's eager to make his mark in Toronto. Standing tall at 6-foot-7, he's a known for shutting down plays and eating pucks and blocking shots in the NCAA.
The Leafs clearly see his potential, snagging him from the Carolina Hurricanes at the trade deadline. So, it's only a matter of time before we see him rocking that blue and white jersey on the ice.
In his final year of college, he wrapped up with six assists, a solid +15 plus-minus, and spent 30 minutes in the penalty box over 38 games. Taking a look back at his overall college career, he's notched one goal and 16 points across a whopping 123 games in the NCAA.
Now, as for his journey to the Toronto Maple Leafs, they snagged him from the Carolina Hurricanes during this season's trade deadline. Originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the fourth round back in 2019, he's been on their radar for a while. Toronto gave up a 2026 sixth-round pick to lock in the rights to this 23-year-old defenseman.
