Elliotte Friedman has reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs are keeping Max Domi after a surprising twist in contract negotiations over the last 24 hours.

Domi, a homegrown player, had a solid season in Toronto, which made a significant impact in the playoffs. Playing alongside stars like Auston Matthews, he proved he could keep up
and complement them effectively.
Domi played 80 games in the regular season, and had 47 points, finishing with a plus-10 rating and 118 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he played all seven games against the Boston Bruins , adding four points to his tally. During the regular season, he averaged 13:47 of ice time, which increased to 16:57 in the playoffs.
He had a 50% success rate in faceoffs during the regular season, which improved to 66.7% in the postseason.
Domi's performance clearly benefits from increased ice time. Domi has always expressed his love for Toronto and his desire to stay, and Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving has been clear about wanting to keep him.
