The timing couldn't be any better given the circumstances, as the Leafs have an extra day off between games 3 and 4 in their series against the Boston Bruins. He will surely use this time to help his wife and take care of his newborn.

The extra day off is also coming at a good time for several other Leafs players, including Auston Matthews and William Nylander. Matthews has been playing through an illness, and the day off should help him recover. For William Nylander, having an extra day to recover from whatever the mysterious migraine injury he is suffering from should do him wonders.

As for other personal news, Simon Benoit also shared that his wife is pregnant, a major personal milestone for the fan favourite who is earning his way into the hearts of Leaf fans.
