After parting ways with Sheldon Keefe, the Leafs have been eyeing up a bunch of potential head coaches, each bringing their flavor of promise to the table. Yet, Gerard Gallant, the guy who led the New York Rangers to the Eastern Conference Finals, is no longer in the running, according to the scoop from Sportsnet's Luke Fox.
Even though Gallant was keen to get back into coaching, Elliotte Friedman said the job is now down to two contenders: Craig Berube and Todd McClellan. One has already had their interview, while the other is gearing up for theirs this week.
Right now, Berube seems to have the edge for Toronto, mainly because of his Stanley Cup-winning experience. In the wild world of sports, anything can happen. So, keep your eyes peeled because this coaching saga is far from over.
