After parting ways with Sheldon Keefe as Head Coach, the Toronto Maple Leafs didn't waste any time locking in their next Head Coach.

On Thursday, the Toronto Maple Leafs made the not-so-surprising move of officially firing Sheldon Keefe following their seven game playoff series loss to the Boston Bruins.
Heading into the day, there were rumours connecting the team to Stanley Cup winning Head Coach Craig Berube, and now, things are reportedly heating up. According to a source close to the Maple Leafs organization, not only are they the favourites to land Berube, but they've already come to a verbal agreement that will be made official in due time;
You will see. Leafs are going to give a week or so. But there has already been a verbal agreement. Details and structure of contract are not done yet. I'm being dead serious.
In five seasons with the Blues, Berube made the playoffs in four, winning the Stanley Cup as the major underdogs, and given how this team has underperformed year after year, this is the type of hard-nosed, intense coach that they need. There's obviously time for things to change, but as of right now, all signs point to Craig Berube being behind the Maple Leafs bench in 2024-25.
