In breaking news, we learned that both Joel Edmundson and Morgan Rielly, two defensemen for the Toronto Maple Leafs, missed the team practice earlier this morning.

As the Leafs prepare to face the New Jersey Devils, both Rielly and Edmundson weren't on the ice with their teammates on Tuesday morning.

Rielly and Edmundson miss team practice ahead of game against the New Jersey Devils

David Alter reported on X that Morgan Rielly and Joel Edmundson didn't step on the ice despite to tough challenge ahead as they'll face the Devils.
"Leafs lines at morning skate Mar. 26/24

Bertuzzi-Matthews-Domi
McMann-Tavares-Nylander
Knies-Holmberg-Robertson
Dewar-Kampf-Gregor
Extra: Reaves

McCabe-Liljegren
Brodie-Lyubushkin
Benoit-Timmins
Giordano
Absent: Rielly, Edmundson

Goalies: Woll, Jones, Murray"
While Rielly and Edmundson are terrible losses for the Leafs, this could give a change to Simon Benoit and Conor Timmins to rise up.
Both of them have shown great promise, but they haven't gotten steady ice-time this season, which surely didn't help them.
Timmins was limited to 18 games this season and tallied six points in that time.
As for Benoit, he played 52 games, mainly because of injuries within the lineup, and was scratched a few times at the benefit of other defensemen.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe should make an official announcement soon regarding the status of Rielly and Edmundson. Stay tuned for any updates.
