The Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly looking to trade Calle Jarnkrok this off-season to provide more flexibility.
Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be in for a busy off-season as they look to shed lots of salaries in order to fix the holes in the team, such as defenseman where they are lacking a true right handed defenseman to fill out their top four. Because of this, there is reason to believe that the Leafs will be looking to trade Calle Jarnkrok. Jarnkrok, has another 2 years left on his 2.1M AAV .
Rumblings seem to support that the Leafs are willing to use multiple ELC and league minimum deals to fill out their forward group so they can finally fix the defensive issues.
At least one conversation has happened with an Atlantic rival about Calle Jarnkrok.
Jarnkrok, 32, had 10 goals, 11 assists & 21 points in 52 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs this past season, going pointless in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Jarnkrok has a modified trade clause.
The Leafs will most definitely use most of their cap room to acquire a solidified defenseman via free agency or via trade.
There's a belief the Leafs could be after two of the «big defensemen» hitting the market this summer.
Some of those names include Zadorov, Pesce, Walker, Tanev and Montour. Given the asking price of most of these players, it will be interesting to see who they get, but it's expected they will make a push for at least one, if not two, defensemen.
