Reports coming from Elliotte Friedman have indicated that the salary cap is expected to see a significant increase. The cap which is currently at around 83.5 million should see around a 4 million dollar increase according to Friedman.
Cap estimate next year given at BoG is approx $87.675M
While this is an expected change that had been rumored all year it is nice to have confirmation. The NHL is growing and closing the gap with other professional sports leagues. Hopefully, for fans and players, this trend continues and the sport keeps growing on a global scale.
