Elliotte Friedman from Sportsnet just shook the hockey world by connecting Jake Guentzel, the hotshot winger from the Carolina Hurricanes, to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Guentzel's no stranger to success, having won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins back in 2018 before his stint in Carolina. Last season, he had 30 goals and 77 points spread over 67 games between Carolina and Pittsburgh, with 9 points in 11 playoff games.
Now, if he switches gears to join Chicago, he'd instantly become their top scorer, giving Calder winner Connor Bedard a run for his money and forming a formidable duo on the power play.

According to the Athletic, Guentzel will get $9.6 million over seven years.
At 29, he's looking for a big payday to secure his future, especially with Chicago having $33,790,000 in cap space for the upcoming season and a handful of unsigned free agents waiting in the wings.
The 29 year-old has 227 goals, 264 assists, and 491 points in his career. Guentzel's set to make waves wherever he ends up.
