While speaking about his tenure in Carolina as the GM and his replacements, Don Waddell was asked about the Hurricanes new GM, Eric Tulsky. While Waddell did praise Tulsky as the right person to take over the job, he also let slip that a potential trade between the two teams is in the works.
At this current point in time, Necas has much more value than Laine, as Laine spent a majority of the 23-24 season out of the lineup due to a multitude of reasons, so Columbus would most likely have to give up more than just Laine to get Necas.
Right now, all fans can do is speculate, as the Carolina Hurricanes is most definitely not the first team that Patrick Laine has been linked to, but perhaps it will be the last.
