Report reveals another injury setback for Columbus Blue Jackets highly touted prospect Cayden Lindstrom

The 2024 NHL Draft may go down in NHL history as one of the most talented we've ever seen, and while all eyes were on Macklin Celebrini, Cayden Lindstrom of the Medicine Hat Tigers emerged as arguably the best prospect of all. Unfortunately, he has an injury history that limited interest in him with the top few picks, but at No. 4 overall, the Columbus Blue Jackets added him to their prospect group that already includes the likes of David Jiricek, Kent Johnson and another top pick in Adam Fantili.

While there's plenty to love about the BC native, especially his size as he stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 210 pounds with immense talent, the injuries are a concern, and according to Aaron Portzline, it's going to limit him this off-season.

Not only that, but the Blue Jackets have revealed he won't compete in the NHL's upcoming Prospect Challenge in Buffalo, opting to be much more patient with his development than they would be if he had a clean injury history.

Ultimately though, optimism is through the roof for the 18-year old who scored an amazing 27 goals in just 31 games played a year ago, and if he can stay healthy over the coming years, they may have yet another star down the middle to lean on as they look to become a genuine threat in the loaded Eastern Conference.
