Corey Perry under fire on social media after Game 7 footage of Oilers emerges

The 2024 Stanley Cup Finals were almost miraculous for the Edmonton Oilers, but ultimately, the team fell in Game 7, sealing another disappointing appearance on the biggest stage for Corey Perry. After winning the Cup with Anaheim back in 2007, Perry has made it back three times in the past four years, ultimately coming up short with Montreal, Tampa Bay and now Edmonton, garnering the reputation of a Stanley Cup curse.

Now, he's once again been made the butt of the joke on social media after this footage emerged of a dejected Oilers locker room immediately after the Game 7 defeat in Florida.

Despite playing well for the Oilers, it's clear that Perry isn't the most popular player in the league, and now with a 1-3 record in the Stanley Cup Finals, he's going to keep hearing about it on social media. However, this Oilers team is a talented one, and if the 39-year old can help them back to the Finals and help Edmonton clinch their first Cup since 1990, he'll be hailed as a hero for a long time to come in Edmonton.
