After a week full of speculation, on the horizon of their big decision, Elliotte Friedman has now predicted the Oilers move for the two big offer sheets.

This past week has been one of major stress and anticipation for those within the Edmonton Oilers, and now, with less than two hours until the deadline of their major decision, a top insider has revealed their plans. According to Elliotte Friedman, the Oilers have now decided not to match the offer sheets signed by Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg, indeed letting them walk to the St. Louis Blues for the 2024/25 season and beyond.
This has come as a major shock given that just a few days ago, the plan was likely to match the offer on Holloway, who would give this team significant depth and youth in their forward group, although the Broberg news was expected to go down this way. After Edmonton traded Cody Ceci, it threw off all expectations, but now, according to Friedman, they will instead take a second and third round pick and cap space instead of two up and coming young players.
There's still time for things to change, but unless they do, expect to see both Holloway and Broberg given significant roles in St. Louis this season and beyond.
