Evander Kane, like the rest of the Oilers team had a rough night on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and now he's looking at a healthy scratch on Sunday.

Sportsnet's Bob Stauffer reported the news early on Sunday afternoon, with Kris Knoblauch, the Oilers Head Coach revealing that it was a simple maintenance day for the veteran forward.
Evander Kane will not play today (maintenance day according to Kris Knoblauch).
Calvin Pickard starts
The veteran has a solid 21 goals in 67 games played this season, and like last season, he will be a key factor in this team's playoff success as he looks to help them win their first Stanley Cup since the early 1990's. However, there could be more to this story, as Evander Kane was spotted arguing with superstar teammate Leon Draisaitl during Saturday's big loss.
The Edmonton Oilers need to be healthy heading into the playoffs, so resting Kane on the second night of a road back-to-back makes sense, but if he's not in the lineup when they battle the red-hot Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday, we may get some more answers on this situation.
For now though, it's a good move for the Oilers to get their veterans some rest as they prepare for what should be a very deep Stanley Cup run in 2023-24.
