A massive update regarding the Montreal Canadiens and the Carolina Hurricanes Martin Necas situation has just been revealed by TVA Sports network.

Roughly one month ago, the father of Martin Necas revealed that a trade involving his son was close, which sparked a massive wave of online rumors and excitement. Now that things seem to have calmed down a little, a new update in this situation by TVA Sports is once again sparking major talk.
The Carolina Hurricanes and restricted free agent Martin Necas have a meeting scheduled with an arbitrator on August 4 to settle their contractual dispute, but the team's general manager, Eric Tulsky, remains hopeful of reaching an agreement before then.

A trade remains a possibility for the 25-year-old forward, who was the subject of numerous rumors earlier this summer. Dissatisfied with his role on the team and his contract negotiations, Necas apparently wanted a change of scenery.

Habs GM Kent Hughes and Canes GM Eric Tulsky have been known to make trades and signings over the summer months in recent memory, so this situation will need to be closely monitored as it can change daily.

Necas to the Habs is still a headline that is very possible over the coming weeks. Fans will need to have a little more patience, but the door is definitely still open for a blockbuster deal.
