After the New Jersey Devils' loss to the Buffalo Sabres, Nico Hischier called out his teammates for the performance, calling it immature.
The New Jersey Devils are on the outside looking in for this season's playoff picture, sitting just 5 points out of a wildcard spot. However, they seem to be dropping important games that might result in them missing the playoffs.
After another disappointing loss to the Buffalo Sabres after leading the game 2-0, New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier called out his team for their performance, saying it was immature and they need to find ways to close out games. Hischier had an assist in the loss.
"We just got to find a way to win against certain teams, and we haven't done that all year. That should not happen. Just another immature performance by us." - Nico Hischier
The New Jersey Devils playoff chances are slipping from their fingers as the season fades away.
With just 8 games remaining, the New Jersey Devils sit 5 points out of a playoff spot and are not completely out of the question when it comes to the mathematics of it all. However, their odds of making the playoffs are continuing to decrease. They would have to pass the Washington Capitals, New York Islanders, and Detroit Red Wings for the final spot, and each of those teams has at least one, some two, games in hand.
If the Devils can't find it within themselves right now to put some heart and soul into their efforts, they are going to have a long offseason to think about it.
