The New York Rangers are looking to upgrade ahead of a Stanley Cup push, and now they've got multiple suitors for captain Jacob Trouba.

After falling one series short of their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance since 2014, the New York Rangers are open to changes, and one big change would be trading their captain. Jacob Trouba has been in trade talks for the majority of the off-season thus far, but due to his wife's working situation, it has become a difficult situation for both parties;
«(Trouba's) wife, Kelly, has a medical career in New York and their first child, Axel, arrived in January,» Mercogliano reported. «The belief is that [Rangers general manager Chris] Drury wants to rip the band-aid off, which may leave Trouba resigned to accept his fate. Regardless of how it turns out, the state of the locker room is a concern.»
Now, it has been revealed that there is plenty of interest in the veteran defenseman, with the Predators, Ducks, Sabres and Red Wings all linked to the hard-hitting blue liner, according to The Fourth Period. Given his hefty contract and the 15 team no-trade clause, it wouldn't be a simple trade to make, but offloading his contract and adding another asset would be a major accomplishment.
At this point, it appears almost inevitable that one team not on his no-trade list will be interested enough to make a deal happen, so look for the New York Rangers to have a new look blue line and a new captain in 2024/25.
