Rangers rookie Matt Rempe caused outrage tonight after he made a dirty hit on Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler. After the game, several Devils players expressed their full opinions on the play.
Rempe Ejected After 'Chicken Wing' Elbow On Devils Defenseman
Rempe earned himself his second career game misconduct in just ten game tonight. He was called for elbowing after he made a dangerous hit on Jonas Siegenthaler where he appeared to deliberately raise his left arm to make a 'Chicken Wing' Style hit on the defender.

The play garnered a great amount of attention on social media as fans around the league shared their opinions on the hit. Most were in agreement that the play was dirty and unnecessary.
After the game, several Devils players shared their thoughts on what happened.
MacDermid Goes Off On Rempe Post-Game For Dirty Hit
Devils defenseman Curtis MacDermid was the most vocal player in the room. He was disgusted by the play, letting Rempe and the rest of us know how he feels about him as a player.
"There's a right way to go about things and a wrong way. I lost a lot of respect for him tonight."
MacDermid attempted to get Rempe to fight him earlier in the game to answer for another questionable hit on Devils forward Nathan Bastian which he also got a game misconduct for earlier this month. However, he refused to fight him and then refused to fight again after the hit that got him ejected. This obviously did not sit well with MacDermid.
8 days ago, Matt Rempe delivers a dangerous hit to devils fwd Nate Bastian. Today, newly acquired fwd, Curtis Macdermid, asks Rempe to answer the bell after that hit 8 days ago. Rempe did not answer the bell, he dodged Curtis, delivered an illegal check to the head, got a 5 minute for checking to the head and a game misconduct and waived goodbye to Curtis while being ejected. You just don't do that, kid. Classless. Very classless.
