New York Rangers' rookie Matt Rempe's been making waves since his NHL debut, but it he's hit a rough patch. Once again in the Hudson River rivalry, he's received his second major penalty for a dirty hit, this time against Devils' defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler.
Rangers' Matt Rempe Ejected for Dangerous Hit
Here's what went down: Siegenthaler was doing a routine dump into the offensive zone, minding his own business, when Rempe blindsided him with what looks like an intentional elbow to the head.
And the replay? Well, let's just say it doesn't do Rempe any favors.
Poor Rempe didn't stick around long after that play. He got the boot from the game, clocking in barely 5 minutes of ice time. Tough break for the rookie. He'd been playing a well rounded game.
