There's been a massive breakthrough about Matvei Michkov's NHL future with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Michkov, drafted 8th overall in the 2023 draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, was playing in the KHL last season, and after a lot of rumors regarding his contractual situation, we finally have an important development to report.
According to Hockey News Hub, Michkov is set to join the Flyers and pursue his hockey career in the NHL as soon as next season.
His current contract with the St. Petersburg SKA will be terminated in 2026 and they'll keep his rights until then.
According to SE, SKA forward Matvey Michkov will continue his career in Philadelphia. The contract with the St. Petersburg club will be terminated until 2026, and the rights to the hockey player in the KHL will remain with the army team."
Michkov, 19, scored 19 goals and 22 assists in 49 KHL games this season.
His arrival in Philadelphia will surely help the team in their rebuilding process.
