Artem Ivanyuzhenkov, a former prospect of the San Jose Sharks, has been charged with the murder of a 23-year-old man. Ivanyuzhenkov is accused of stabbing the victim to death while celebrating his birthday in the city of Podolsk. Witnesses of the crime identified Ivanyuzhenkov as the killer, but he denies the allegations.

Ivanyuzhenkov's comments were translated from a media outlet called Aftonbladet, in which he stated
"False and complete lies are flying around the internet that I committed a crime in the Moscow region in some restaurant. Do not believe unconfirmed information. I am at the training camp in Sochi for the third day. The investigation will sort everything out."

Ivanyuzhenkov signed a contract with the Sharks during the 2019-2020 season at the age of 24, but he never played more than 2 AHL games. After spending the rest of the year in the ECHL, Ivanyuzhenkov left North America. However, this is not the first time Ivanyuzhenkov has committed such a serious crime. He killed a cyclist in the Moscow area in 2020 but was not convicted due to his father, Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, being the Deputy Speak of the Russian Parliament.
As the investigation into the murder charge against Ivanyuzhenkov continues, his fate remains uncertain.
