Tampa Bay Lightning's Steven Stamkos is still shockingly unsigned, and free agency is fast approaching, coming up this Monday.
The Lightning faced a bitter 5 round defeat against the Florida Panthers, and to add insult to injury, the Panthers not only beat them, but went on to win the cup.
Despite this, Stamkos has continued to display impressive stats for his age, with him being 34 years old, and still managing 40 goals this season, no small feat.
It seems that the Stamkos negotiations with Tampa have gone south.

It seems as though the long-tenured Lightning captain is set to hit free agency July 1st.
Stamkos has been playing on a deal with an AAV of $8.5M per season.
However, with Tampa Bay facing a cap crunch, thanks to hefty contracts for players like Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, Mikhail Sergachev, and Andrei Vasilevskiy, Stamkos might find himself the odd one out.
If Stamkos doesn't re-sign with the Lightning, numerous teams would eagerly welcome the two-time Stanley Cup champion. Toronto, in particular, seems like a logical destination given his local roots and the team's potential need for his veteran leadership and scoring ability.
Free Agency: Stamkos and Toronto
All eyes are on Stamkos right now, and considering the news that he is most likely not gonna sign with Tampa again, everyone is eager to see where he will eventually end up, seeing as he would be such a huge asset for any team that can manage to scoop him up, he would change their dynamic entirely.
