The Leafs beat the Canadiens 4-2 last night in Montreal, and as fans expected, it was yet another heated game for one of the biggest rivalries in the NHL.
With the Habs' biggest enforcer, Arber Xhekaj, not in the lineup, Pezzetta had to be the one to answer Reaves' call. It didn't end well for the Canadiens' player.
After the game, Auston Matthews, who scored one goal in the Leafs' win, got brutally honest about Ryan Reaves and what he brings to the team.
"He's just an animal, honestly. He's a beast. It's moments like those where you really realize how important he is to the team... I love watching him do what he does. He's the best in the world at it for a reason."
Matthews' comments reflect how much Reaves has grown since the start of the season. He seems to have finally found his stride, and he'll need to keep it going in the playoffs.
