Bold prediction made by Maple Leafs broadcaster regarding Alex Nylander

With NHL training camps about to kick off, fans are abuzz in anticipation, most of all about their respective teams. In the case of those cheering on the Leafs, one might say questions remain pertaining to Alex Nylander, and when we would ever see the Nylander brothers play together in the NHL.

Sportsnet's Luke Fox took on this question in his Maple Leafs Mailbag, projecting that both of the Nylander brothers could be on the big club roster by Christmas.

Injuries always occur during the long season, and given Alex Nylander's experience, he will more than likely be one of the first on the call-up list when the Leafs need someone, as Fox noted. However, Alex knows he has a lot to prove before that happens, as he mentioned in August.

It's a long season, and it is close to a foregone conclusion that we will see Alex and William Nylander suit up together on the ice for the Leafs at some point this season, health permitting. The Leafs have struggled to score in the playoffs for what has felt like an eternity, and depth scoring has been nonexistent. Alex's recent time in Columbus certainly seemed to indicate he could help that problem. The big question is: whether it be before or after Christmas. Leafs fans are sure hoping for a Christmas gift with this!
