The insider Chris Johnston believes that the Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe will get to keep his job after all.

After another disappointing playoff elimination in the first round, many things are expected to change in the Leafs organization.
Some rumors state that Brendan Shanahan could be the one to pay, others that Keefe will be let go, and more that suggest Mitch Marner played his last game with the Leafs.
TSN's insider Chris Johnston had his own take about one of these issues.
In an intervention on 'The CJ Show', Johnston said that Sheldon Keefe could keep his job.
According to him, the Leafs feel like there's no candidate that could do a better job than Keefe, who just had a great season in Toronto.
"I think the feeling seems to be that there isn't a clear upgrade on him out there... I think that's what's making it difficult.

There is an internal view that Sheldon Keefe had a good season. They played a meaningful amount of games with their third goaltender this season. They were missing significant chunks of their blueline. Even in the playoffs they played 3 games without William Nylander, two games without Auston Matthews plus 3 games where we was dealing with illness or injury.

I think there is a case to be made he had maybe his best season as a head coach."
Despite other interesting candidates such as Gerard Gallant, Todd McLellan and Joel Quenneville, it seems like they are willing to trust Keefe once more.
The Leafs are set to hold a press conference on Friday, where they should make big announcements concerning the future of the team. We'll know soon what's going to happen and if Keefe and Brendan Shanahan stay with the Leafs.
