The Toronto Maple Leafs find themselves up against a major test in the first round, but captain John Tavares has confidence in his group.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs haven't even begun yet, but many fans are counting out the Toronto Maple Leafs in their first-round battle with the Boston Bruins. Captain John Tavares obviously isn't one of those people however, as he addressed the test that the Bruins will give them in a recent interview, brimming with confidence at his teams chances.
🗣️ John Tavares on the reality of playing the Bruins:

«It'll be a real challenge but real special to play in that. An Original Six (team) has got a lot of history to it. Great opportunity for us so we know it'll be a real test and we have to be prepared.»

#LeafsForever
In 2023-24, the Bruins hold a 4-0 record against the Maple Leafs, with two games decided by 1 goal and the other two decided by 3, so it's easy to see why the Bruins are the betting favourite. Given all the pressure on their shoulders however, the Maple Leafs will come into this series all guns blazing, and if they get on top, there's no reason why they can't make this a series and even force the upset over their fellow Original Six team.
