On the ice, Auston Matthews is one of the NHL's biggest stars, but away from the ice, he's doing just as much for the community in Toronto.
While most Maple Leafs fans are looking for Auston Matthews to be included in the Hart Trophy race, today it was confirmed that No. 34 is up for a different award. It has now been revealed that Matthews will be a candidate for the King Clancy Award, a trophy that is 'awarded annually to the NHL player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community'.
