The Toronto Maple Leafs have spent their week in Sweden for the Global Series.

The trip has overall been successful and may even yield a new member of the organization.

Maple Leafs Legend Joins The Team In Sweden

When the Maple Leafs went to Sweden to faceoff in the Global Series no one knew a team legend would be in attendance.
That is what ended up happening though as former Maple Leafs forward Mats Sundin has been with the team during multiple points of their trip.
His involvement with the team culminated in Sundin being involved with multiple parts of the Maple Leafs games this weekend. The first instance was Sundin reading the lineup card for the Leafs game against the Red Wings.

After Sundin read the lineup card the team would go out and win the game. Today the Maple Leafs were hoping for similar luck when Sundin dropped the ceremonial first puck before their game against the Minnesota Wild.

Sundin being back around the team has led many to wonder if he could be the latest hockey legend to return to an organization in a new role.

Sundin Returning To The Maple Leafs?

Many people have wondered if this rekindling between Sundin and the Maple Leafs could lead to more involvement with the team. Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe indirectly commented on this idea.
"He's a proud Maple Leaf, first of all. You can see that. But also, he just loves the game, and I think he just enjoys being around everyone and telling the stories," Keefe says.

With Keefe's comments, it sounds as though Sundin could be the perfect fit for a front-office role. He still loves Toronto and the game and has valuable pieces of hockey knowledge to share.
While it is still unlikely that the all-time points leader for the Maple Leafs returns the door is now more open than it has ever been before.
