After another disappointing run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Maple Leafs have now been linked to an intriguing player with Cup winning experience.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a huge summer ahead, and while fans are eagerly awaiting a blockbuster move, they've got to make some smaller moves as well. Now, one intriguing idea has been presented to them, with insider Frank Seravalli revealing that Ross Colton is a name potentially on the move from the Colorado Avalanche, and naturally, fans took to social media to voice their desire to have him land in Toronto.
The 27-year old was a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning for the 2021 run to the Stanley Cup, and after joining the Avalanche last season, he put up a career high in 40 points with his expanded role in Colorado. While he may never be a top-six player, the team need solid depth and players that can get it done in the big moments, contributing four goals in 23 games in the playoffs that season.
Toronto won't be the only team interested in Colton, but if they can get him on a relatively cheap deal, it will be a fantastic move for their depth as they look to end their lengthy Stanley Cup drought.
