The Toronto Maple Leafs offense continues to be as lethal as always, but if they want to make a Stanley Cup run in 2023-24, the goaltending will need to step up and do its part.
Ilya Samsonov to get another start for the Maple Leafs
The goaltending has shown up well in recent times, allowing just 18 goals in the teams past seven games where they have gone 5-2-0, with the two losses coming against the rival Boston Bruins.
Now, they will do battle with the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday in a potential playoff preview, with Ilya Samsonov reportedly set to get yet another start after his solid play as of late.
Ilya Samsonov is projected to start tomorrow against Carolina. While not yet confirmed, Samsonov is the first goalie in Leafs practice today.

In his previous four outings, Samsonov has allowed a 1.93 GAA while amassing a fantastic .933 save percentage, as he appears to be solidifying himself in the starting role going forward.
Both Martin Jones and Joseph Woll have been solid when given the opportunity this season, but the team clearly believe in Samsonov, and if the 27-year old continues this great play, he will likely become the starter when the playoffs roll around.
