The Toronto Maple Leafs have seemingly set a date to introduce newly hired head coach Craig Berube.
After lots of speculation and rumours, the Maple Leafs officially named Berube the head coach this week. Berube replaces Sheldon Keefe, who was fired after another first round exit at the hands of the Boston Bruins.
The press conference will reportedly take place on Tuesday, May 21st.
The contract details have not yet been revealed to the public, but it has been rumoured that Berube signed a 4 year deal to be the bench boss of the Maple Leafs.
Berube coached the St. Louis Blues to the Stanley Cup in 2019, but was fired this past season as the Blues struggled mightily out of the gate. He made appearances as an analyst throughout the season.
Berube will have some important decisions to make about his supporting staff, as GM Brad Treliving tries to work with the team that was left to him by Kyle Dubas, while perhaps giving the team a new identity.
