Despite being linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Marc Savard may not be joining them behind the bench according to Darren Dreger.

Earlier last week it was announced that the Calgary Flames and Marc Savard have agreed to mutually part ways, many, thought it was in anticipation that he would join Craig Berube behind the Leafs' bench however this may not be the case.
Dreger linked Savard to the junior ranks, where he first started.
"There's a couple of places that maybe fit the bill there. I'm not saying that's what he's going to do. That was thrown out by somebody who might know as a possibility," Dreger said.
The Leafs have to fill at least one spot on Berube's coaching staff after Manny Malhotra departed to become the head coach of the Abbotsford Canucks. Decisions are yet to be made on the remaining members that were hired under Sheldon Keefe including Mike Van Ryn, Dean Chynoweth and Guy Boucher.
Mike Yao, DJ Smith, Marc Savard remain all possibilities to fill in Craig Berube's staff, something where Berube will be very picky in when deciding who he wants on his team.
