Auston Matthews revealed crucial details on when he suffered an injury against the Boston Bruins.
In his end-of-season media availability, Matthews stated that he dealt with an injury and an illness in the first playoff round against the Bruins, which forced him to miss games 5 and 6.
He was sick with a flu-like virus before game 2, then, got injured in game 4 by a hit.
Unfortunately, he didn't want to share further details. Read his full statement here:
" I got really sick before Game 2. Was trying to recover going into Game 3. In Game 4, I took a weird hit and couldn't go any longer. That is as detailed as I am going to get into it. It was tough. Really frustrating. Sucks. It was killing me to watch."
This was a considerable loss for the Leafs. Matthews was the best player for Toronto in the first few games. Many fans are wondering how things would've turned out for the Leafs if he had been healthy.
Do you think the Maple Leafs would've beat the Boston Bruins if Auston Matthews had taken part in all the games?
