One of the Toronto Maple Leafs' top prospects, Nikita Grebyonkin, is set to join the Maple Leafs after his team, the Magnitogorsk Metallurg, won the Gagarin Cup in the KHL.

Grebyonkin was picked in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft by the Maple Leafs and according to a new report, he could sign his entry-level contract soon to join the team for the playoffs.
Hockey News Hub shared the news on X:
"Alexei Shevchenko reporting #LeafsForever prospect Nikita Grebyonkin leaving Metallurg and could join Leafs for playoffs.

Guess no injury."
However, in an earlier post, it was stated that he was injured and played through it in the Finals. If that's the case, he'll likely rest instead of moving to North America to compete in the NHL playoffs.
"Reported that #LeafsForever prospect Nikita Grebyonkin played through #GagarinCupFinals with injury. Could barely walk.

That's the character player you are getting, Leafs fans."
Even if his role diminished in the post-season, he scored three goals and six points in 23 playoff games with Metallurg and earned valuable experience.
Per Kyle Cushman:
"Nikita Grebyonkin is a KHL champion!

Metallurg Magnitogorsk sweeps Lokomotiv in the Gagarin Cup Finals to claim the team's first league trophy since 2016.

Grebyonkin's role diminished later in the postseason. He finishes with 3 goals and 6 points in 23 games."
Updates and details will follow.
Do you think Nikita Grebyonkin will join the Maple Leafs for the playoffs?
