The Smith Entertainment Group, owner of the new NHL team in Utah, filled trademark applications for a total of eight names, including two new options.

It has finally been confirmed: Utah will get an NHL team for the 2024-25 season.
Over the past weeks, a total of eight trademark applications were filed by the owners concerning the name of the team.
Before today, the possibilities were Yetis, HC, Fury, Outlaws, Venom and Blizzard. Two new names were added to that list: Mammoth and Ice.
Per Ryan Miller, reporter covering the Utah Jazz:
"The full list is now Utah Mammoth, Utah Ice, Utah Yetis, Utah Venom, Utah Fury, Utah Blizzard, Utah Outlaws and Utah Hockey Club (or Utah HC).

Two more trademark applications were filed on Tuesday by Uyte LLC for seemingly potential team names:

Utah Mammoth and Utah Ice"
It is planned that fans will be the ones to decide on the name. Management will ask fans to vote for their favorite name in a bracket.
"Ryan Smith says they're going to make a bracket and let the fans vote on the team name"
The former Coyotes' players have officially landed in Utah, and met their new fans for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.
Players are set to visit the team facilities and get acquainted with the city.
Here's a video of their arrival at the airport, and their first meeting with their new fans:
