The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially completed a trade at the 2024 NHL Draft.
Instead of going up the stage at the 23rd overall rank, general manager Brad Treliving decided to trade his pick to the Anaheim Ducks for the 31st and 58th picks.
Per Chris Johnston:
"The #leafs trade pick No. 23 to Anaheim for Nos. 31 and 58. Toronto adds a second-rounder."
Anaheim decided to get the defenseman Stian Solberg at the 23rd pick:
"Stian Solberg, Anaheim Duck!
We've selected the Norwegian defenseman with the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft."
When the trade was first announced, hype was through the roof. Fans from all over the NHL can't wait to see what general manager Brad Treliving will decide to do with Mitch Marner as he enters the final year of his contract.
Also, with how the Leafs' 2023 draft pick Easton Cowan turned out, many people hoped to see the Leafs add a player to their roster with that pick. However, they still got the opportunity to get interesting player at the 31st rank.
