The Toronto Maple Leafs cut the promising player Noah Chadwick from their training camp.

Yesterday, before the Maple Leafs' second pre-season game against the Ottawa Senators, the team announced a new cut. They announced that the young defenseman Noah Chadwick was loaned to the WHL, set to return to the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the next season.

The 6'4" defenseman, drafted 185th overall by the Maple Leafs in 2023, will return to the Hurricanes for his fourth junior season in the WHL, despite taking part in his first professional game with the Marlies last year.

Set to be the team captain going into the next season, his valuable contributions made him one of the best players on the Hurricanes' blue line. He tallied 79 points in 146 games, a notable accomplishment for a 19-year-old defenseman.

His talent and numbers forced the Maple Leafs management to sign him to a three-year entry-level contract back in December. If everything goes well, we should see him with the Marlies at the end of the season and back to the Leafs' camp next season.

He joined the other five players who were cut by the Maple Leafs: Sam McCue, Maxim Muranov, Miroslav Holinka, Marshall Finnie, and Nathan Mayes. They were all sent back to their junior teams on Saturday, before the Leafs' first pre-season game.

With the NHL season opener coming soon, fans can expect many more players to be cut from the Toronto Maple Leafs' training camp in the coming days.

Meanwhile, fans await the Leafs' next challenge: the Montreal Canadiens, who won their first two pre-season games. It'll be interesting to see if the team cuts more players from the camp before that game.
