Despite their lack of stars up front (beyond David Pastrnak), the Boston Bruins had another successful campaign a year ago, pushing the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers to six-games in the second round. However, there were still major question marks over how far this team could go in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and they looked to answer some of those this summer by signing two former Vancouver Canucks in Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm.
Unfortunately for Boston, Lindholm is now dealing with an 'undisclosed injury', and will reportedly miss up to a weeks worth of action during critical pre-season time that would usually be used to get him acclimated with his new team.
In 2024/25, Lindholm is expected to centre the Bruins top line alongside Pavel Zacha and Pastrnak, and with the depth down the middle looking quite light without No. 28, it's safe to say that the organization will be sweating on his return. Three years ago, Lindholm had a career campaign alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk with 42 goals and 82 points, but since that time he's struggled for the same production, tallying just 64 and 44 points.
However, he now has one of the league's top goalscorers alongside him again, and if he can remain healthy, the confidence is there that he can return to his old form, so the hope is that this injury will not keep him out for too long and that he will be good to go for the regular season opener.
