Mitch Marner's contract sees a slight increase, making it highly probable he stays a Toronto Maple Leaf, aligning with the team's future plans.

Mitch Marner is set to become an unrestricted free agent soon, but the Leafs are dead set on keeping him, and that's becoming more and more likely every day. A reputable insider has just shared what his next major contract will be.
according to The Leafs Nation's Jon Steitzer, Marner's cap hit is likely to fall in the same percentage range as the Elias Pettersson deal in Vancouver, which is 13.89% of the cap, or in the $12.2M range under the current $88M salary cap.

As Steitzer also pointed out, that number would jump to $12.4M per season with next year's salary cap expected to reach $93M.
This contract would see Marner earning around $12.2 million annually, which is just about one million less than Maple Leafs' star center Auston Matthews. While this may raise concerns among fans, the contract is statistically justified given Marner's impressive performance in recent years.
Mitch Marner's next projected contract is 12.2M dollars x 8 years, 97M dollars total.
With the NHL draft concluded and no trade in sight, it seems increasingly likely that Marner will remain a Leaf for the upcoming season, and potentially beyond with an extension. This stability is crucial as the team looks to build on its recent successes and contend for the Stanley Cup.
This contract scenario not only solidifies Marner's place in the team but also underscores the Leafs' commitment to maintaining a core group of players who can drive their ambitions forward.
