Toronto's Max Domi makes Major Statement Following the Leafs Win
The Toronto Maple Leafs season has been full of inconsistencies, but as of late they have been fantastic, culminating in a dominant 7-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.
Max Domi declares Toronto can play with anyone
Following the game, veteran Max Domi was asked about his thoughts on the game, and unsurprisingly he was full of confidence, saying among other things that the Maple Leafs 'can play with anyone'.
"Everyone was good tonight. We had contributions from everyone. When we have everyone going like that, we're a tough team to beat. We can play with anyone. Four lines going short and hard. And everyone's sticking to the game plan: keeping it simple, staying disciplined, not taking penalties. When we do that, we just come at teams in waves — and that's the Stanley Cup champions. I mean, they might not have had their best tonight, but I'm sure they'd say that we're a tough team to play against."

The game was Toronto's sixth straight win, with the team tallying an amazing 34 goals over that stretch, and after dismantling the Golden Knights defense, Domi has a right to be confident.
Sure, the reigning Stanley Cup Champions weren't at full health, but with solid goaltending for Toronto, the return of Morgan Rielly and all four lines rolling, this team continues to look dangerous. Regular season success is one thing though, and the playoffs are another animal entirely, but if Toronto can continue this type of play going forward as well as adding a piece or two at the deadline, it may finally be their year to make a genuine run.
