Max Domi was a great pickup for the Toronto Maple Leafs last offseason, as the NHL veteran has played himself into a nice pay raise.
The 29 year old is projected to receive a contract worth around $17 million dollars this off-season, bringing his AAV to $4.25 million dollars per season.
Domi mentioned in his year end press availability that he would like to remain in Toronto and be a part of the Maple Leafs, noting that he knows he cannot control that decision.
Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a tough choice to make, as Domi plays a hard nosed, Corey Perry style of game, leaving him prone to injury more than an average player.
Perhaps he got this style of play from his father, Tie Domi, who played for the Leafs during his NHL career.
Regardless if it is with the Leafs or not, Max Domi has earned himself a long term contract with his play during the 2023-2024 NHL season.
