The Toronto Maple Leafs once again fell in the first round, but did so in part due to injuries, with William Nylander opening up on brutal injuries he dealt with.

William Nylander was one of the Toronto Maple Leafs best players in the final three games of their season, but ultimately it just wasn't enough. However, he deserves plenty of credit for playing through the injuries that cost him games early in the season, with No. 88 opening up on those after their brutal game seven loss.
William Nylander confirms he was dealing a complicated head issue and eye migraines. Couldn't see clearly.
On the surface, that sounds hard enough to deal with, but one Maple Leafs fan in the reply went into further detail on what that feels like, and it sounds excruciating;
Not a question of seeing clearly. More like couldn't see *at all*. With ocular migraines vision disintegrates. You'll look at someone's face & only see a quarter of it. The rest of your vision is filled w/shiny, flashing lights and squiggles. I get this type. They're F'ing awful.
Nylander would fight back and get on the ice however, netting three goals in the final two games of the series, but ultimately it just wasn't enough as the team couldn't score enough to win, and will now head into the summer looking for answers and potential change.
