The Toronto Maple Leafs forward group is one of the best in the entire NHL, with a good blend of veterans and youth, but one young player hasn't been happy with the way he's been handled as of late.
Nick Robertson has been one of the Maple Leafs top prospects for years now, and even though 2023-24 was the year he was meant to break out, he's still dealt with a frustration situation.
Despite a solid start to the year where he believed he was becoming an NHL regular, Robertson was sent down to the AHL by the Maple Leafs ahead of the deadline due to his remaining waiver eligibility, and while he understands the process, he reveals that he wasn't happy with the situation.
In 41 games this season, Toronto's former No. 1 prospect has tallied 8 goals and 19 points, showing the potential that the team saw in him for some time, but he still believes he should have a larger role on this roster.
Ultimately, at 22-years of age, he's still got a bright future ahead of him, but with him calling out the organization like this, they may look to move him this summer unless the production picks up, as they have plenty of young players ready to step up and take his role.
